Silk Cut - ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

Guitar-driven power pop for all seasons. Auckland quartet Silk Cut bait their melodic, psychedelic hooks with waking dreams, existential vignettes and familiar comforts.  Bringing some comfort to bear on mid-winter, Silk Cut perform at Big Fan on July 7th to celebrate the release of a new album following last year’s well-received ‘Our Place in the Stars’. Eponymously titled, and composed in equal measure by frontmen Andrew Thorne and Justin McLean, ‘Silk Cut’ is further testament to great tunesmiths and mighty guitarists. From Auckland and Dunedin respectively, they combine 60’s and 90’s pop/rock sensibilities somewhere along the Desert Road. Now that’s a trip.  In addition to various local gigs through 2023, Silk Cut thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of supporting Australian legends Hoodoo Gurus and Salford’s wonderful Happy Mondays.  Every appearance is a privilege and Silk Cut are ready, willing and amped to share another with friends old and new alike.
